POWER & TELECOMMUNICATIONS LINE CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE

POWER & TELECOMMUNICATIONS LINE CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE

Power & telecommunications line construction & maintenance

Custom Helicopters has been providing high-quality, safe, and efficient service to the electrical utility industry — on the prairies and beyond — for decades. Class D external loads and our multi engine aircraft allow us to offer an even wider spectrum of services to our existing and prospective clients.

Whether it’s construction, inspection, or maintenance of your power or telecommunications lines, our pilots have the training and skill set to keep your workers safe throughout every job.

Use of a helicopter for sock pulling can drastically reduce construction time and requires far fewer resources. While some installations may require 8 to 10 bucket trucks at a time and 12-hour days, a helicopter can cut that time in half and reduces the need for ground support.

Contact Custom Helicopters today and let’s talk about your power and telecommunications lines needs.

MINERAL EXPLORATION

MINERAL EXPLORATION

Mineral exploration

Mineral exploration via helicopter is at the core of our business. In fact, it was one of the first sectors we ever operated in, and we’ve been doing so since 1977. We’ve helped many organizations explore most provinces and territories in Canada, including the high Arctic.

Custom’s rugged fleet of Airbus and Bell helicopters offers a variety of options depending on your needs, with multiple passenger and crew configurations.

If clients have electromagnetic survey technology (VTEM), we are able to attach it to our helicopters and provide full survey services.

Call or email Custom Helicopters today, and let’s discuss your next mineral exploration expedition.

Churchill weather

Churchill has a subarctic climate with long, cold winters and mild summers. Weather events and variability throughout the year add to the interesting aspects of visiting Churchill; however, with such variability, air travel can become challenging. Safety is our number-one priority. If the weather is marginal, we might have to cancel or postpone flights. When you book with us, however, we work with you and your schedule and try our best to reschedule your flight for another time or day when the weather improves.

Weight restrictions and group sizes

Our tour aircraft can accommodate a maximum of 5 passengers per helicopter. The maximum duration of a flight depends on passenger weight, as our flight operations use passenger load to calculate maximum fuel load. Groups of 2 or 3 passengers can fly for up to 120 minutes, groups of 4 passengers can fly for up to 90 minutes, and groups of 5 passengers can fly for up to 60 minutes. When calling to book, please let us know the size of your group and passenger weight, so we can let you know which tour durations are available to your group.
